Gambling Is Entertainment — Not a Financial Plan

For the vast majority of players who enjoy sports betting or live casino games on jjvan, gambling is a form of entertainment they engage in consciously and within limits they have set for themselves. A PKR 500 bet on a Pakistan cricket match or a quick session on the live roulette table is, for most people, no different from buying a cinema ticket in Islamabad — it is a discretionary leisure expense with an element of excitement attached.

Responsible gambling means staying in that zone — knowing your limits before you play, never chasing losses, never gambling with money you cannot afford to lose, and recognising when gambling stops being fun. jjvan exists to make sure you have all the tools and information to stay there.

We are equally transparent about the risks. A small percentage of people develop gambling habits that harm their finances, relationships and mental health. Problem gambling is a recognised condition, not a character flaw, and it is something that professional support can genuinely help. jjvan takes this seriously — not as a compliance formality, but because the wellbeing of every Pakistani user on this platform matters to us.

Pakistan's Prevention of Gambling Act, 1977, and related provincial regulations create a specific legal context for Pakistani players. jjvan does not claim that its services are approved by the Government of Pakistan, the PTA or any Pakistani financial institution. We encourage all users to understand the law applicable in their jurisdiction before participating. This page does not constitute legal advice.

Gambling Is Healthy When You:

Play only with money budgeted as discretionary entertainment spending — not rent, household bills or savings. Set a time and money limit before each session and stick to it. Treat every loss as the cost of entertainment, not a deficit to recover. Take regular breaks and keep gambling as one small part of a balanced lifestyle. Stop and walk away — from Karachi to Peshawar — if it stops being fun.

Gambling Becomes Harmful When You:

Borrow money to fund gambling or use funds meant for essential expenses. Chase losses — betting more in an attempt to recover what you have lost. Feel anxious, irritable or distressed when not gambling. Lie to family or friends about how much time or money you spend. Gamble to escape financial problems, stress or difficult emotions. Find that gambling is affecting your work, relationships or daily responsibilities.

If you recognise harmful patterns in your own behaviour or in someone you know, please use jjvan's self-exclusion tools or contact support immediately. Early action makes a significant difference.

Responsible Gambling Controls Available on jjvan

Every registered jjvan Account comes with a full set of responsible gambling controls. These are not buried in a settings menu — they are accessible from your Account dashboard at any time and take effect immediately or within 24 hours as specified.

Deposit Limits

Set a maximum deposit amount across daily, weekly or monthly periods. Once the limit is reached, further deposits are blocked for the remainder of the period. Illustrative example: a PKR 10,000 weekly deposit cap locks out additional deposits until the week resets. Increases to limits take 7 days to take effect. Decreases take effect immediately.

Effective Immediately (Decreases)
Loss Limits

Set a maximum net loss threshold across daily, weekly or monthly periods. When your losses reach the configured limit, further wagering is suspended for the remainder of the period. This tool prevents loss-chasing by creating a hard stop before situations escalate. Loss limit decreases take effect immediately; increases carry a 7-day cooling-off period.

Cooling-Off on Increases
Session Time Limits

Specify how long you want each gaming session to last. When the timer expires, a notification is displayed. You can choose to receive an alert only, or to have the session end automatically. Session time limits are particularly useful for users who lose track of time during live betting events like PSL or ICC matches.

Customisable per Session
Cooling-Off Period

Request a short-term cooling-off period of 24 hours, 48 hours, 7 days or 30 days. During a cooling-off period, your Account is suspended and you cannot access gambling features. This is useful if you feel you need a temporary break without committing to a full self-exclusion.

24h – 30 Days
Self-Exclusion

Permanently or for a defined period (minimum 6 months) exclude yourself from the Platform. During a self-exclusion period, your Account is fully suspended, marketing communications stop and your profile is flagged to prevent re-registration. Self-exclusion requests cannot be reversed during the active exclusion period — this is by design.

Minimum 6 Months
Reality Checks

Enable periodic pop-up notifications during active sessions that display total time played, net wager amount and net result for the current session. Reality checks interrupt the flow of play momentarily to help you make a conscious, informed decision about whether to continue.

Recognising Problem Gambling

Problem gambling can affect anyone — regardless of background, city or income level. Recognising the signs early is the most important step toward getting help. The following patterns are widely recognised indicators that gambling may have become problematic.

Spending more money on gambling than you can comfortably afford to lose, or using funds set aside for essential household expenses like rent, groceries or utility bills.

Chasing losses — placing larger bets or continuing to play specifically to try to recover money that has already been lost in a previous session.

Feeling restless, irritable or anxious when attempting to cut back on gambling time, or when you are unable to access the platform.

Hiding the extent of your gambling activity from family members, friends or colleagues — or lying about the amounts won or lost.

Borrowing money from family, friends or financial institutions — or selling personal belongings — to fund gambling activity.

Neglecting work, study, family responsibilities or personal health in favour of gambling, or finding that gambling takes up a disproportionate amount of time and mental energy.

Using gambling as a primary way to cope with stress, anxiety, depression or difficult life events — rather than as occasional recreation.

Making repeated unsuccessful attempts to control, reduce or completely stop gambling, often followed by a return to previous patterns.

Gambling with progressively higher stakes to achieve the same level of excitement — a pattern that closely mirrors tolerance development seen in other addictive behaviours.

Ask Yourself These Questions

This is not a clinical diagnostic tool. It is a reflection exercise designed to help you think honestly about your relationship with gambling. If you answer "yes" to several of these questions, we strongly encourage you to use jjvan's self-exclusion tool or seek professional support.

If you feel you need help immediately, please contact jjvan support or reach out to a mental health professional or helpline in your area. You do not have to manage this alone.

1

Have you ever gambled with money that was originally set aside for essential expenses such as rent, food, school fees or utility bills?

2

Have you ever tried to recover losses by gambling more, rather than accepting the loss and stopping?

3

Do you find it difficult to stop gambling once you have started, even when you originally intended to play for a short time or limited amount?

4

Have you ever been dishonest with a family member, friend or colleague about how much time or money you spend on gambling?

5

Do you experience strong emotions — anxiety, irritability or low mood — when you are unable to gamble or when you attempt to stop?

6

Has gambling caused any significant conflict with family members, affected your work performance, or contributed to financial difficulty?

7

Do you find yourself thinking about gambling frequently — planning your next session, reliving past wins or calculating how to recoup losses — even when you are doing something else?

8

Have you ever borrowed money, sold belongings or sought a loan to fund gambling activity?

How Our Limit Controls Work

Setting limits is straightforward and takes effect as described below. All limit changes are logged in your Account history for transparency.

Daily Limits

Resets at midnight. Decreases effective immediately. Increases apply after 24 hours.

Weekly Limits

Resets Monday 00:00. Decreases effective immediately. Increases apply after 7 days.

Monthly Limits

Resets on the 1st. Decreases effective immediately. Increases apply after 7 days.

Why the Delay?

Cooling-off periods for limit increases prevent impulsive decisions made during a losing session from undermining your long-term plan.

Need a Complete Break? Use Self-Exclusion.

Self-exclusion is the strongest responsible gambling tool available on jjvan. Once activated, your Account is fully suspended — you cannot log in, deposit, wager or receive promotional emails. The minimum exclusion period is six (6) months. Permanent exclusion is also available. Self-exclusion cannot be reversed during the active period, which is a deliberate protective measure.

To request self-exclusion, contact jjvan support at [email protected] with "Self-Exclusion Request" in the subject line, or use the Account Settings panel. Email is plain text only — not a clickable link.

Our Commitments

How jjvan Upholds Responsible Gambling

Responsible gambling is built into the core of jjvan's platform — not added as a legal footnote. These are the six pillars of our commitment.

Strict Age Verification

Every Account goes through mandatory age verification. CNIC and passport checks are enforced before any gameplay or withdrawal is permitted. 18+ is non-negotiable, or the higher minimum required by the operator's licence jurisdiction.

Full Suite of Limit Controls

Deposit limits, loss limits, session-time limits and reality checks are available to all users from day one. Decreases take effect immediately; increases carry a mandatory cooling-off period to prevent impulsive changes.

Irreversible Self-Exclusion

Self-exclusion cannot be reversed during the active period by design. Once activated, marketing stops, login is disabled, and a re-registration flag prevents circumvention. Your future self thanks your present self.

Behavioural Monitoring

jjvan monitors for patterns associated with problem gambling — such as rapid session increases following losses — and may proactively prompt users to review their limits or contact support.

No Predatory Promotions

jjvan does not send promotional offers to users who are in a cooling-off period or under self-exclusion. We do not use urgency-based marketing tactics that pressure users into gambling beyond their intended limits.

Ongoing Education

This Responsible Gambling page is reviewed and updated regularly. We integrate responsible gambling guidance into our betting guides, bonus explainers and payment documentation so that safety information reaches users in context.

Play Smart. Stay in Control. Enjoy jjvan.
